Can severe lower Back Pain From an untreated compression fracture cause artery clots leading to the lungs?

Usually pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs) are the result of venous stasis in the lower extremities from inactivity. Basically, you get a blood clot in your legs which break off and migrate elsewhere, usually the lungs, this is also known as DVT or deep vein thrombosis. Inactivity, such as prolonged sitting or bedrest due to injury or surgery could predispose one to the formation of such clots. Severe Lower Back pain could certainly compromise mobility, leading to increased risk for DVT.
